Morillon skiing is excellent. Part of the French Alps’ Grand Massif ski area - the fourth largest linked ski area in France -Morillon gives you access to 265km of varied terrain, including heaps of beautiful tree-lined runs, a dedicated kids area, and heaps of beginner friendly pistes.
Is Morillon ski resort snow sure?
Morillon has a reliable snow record, with many north-facing slopes, extensive snowmaking facilities, and being next to the Flaine bowl, one of the Alps’ most snow-sure ski spots.
When’s the best time to book a Morillon ski holiday?
The Grand Massif ski season runs from mid-December through to mid-April.
- January ski holidays to Morillon are best for crisp, cold snow and quiet slopes.
- February ski trips to Morillon are great for families, though it is the busiest time to travel.

Once you’re done perfecting your snowploughs, there’s plenty of greens and blues to enjoy - including the iconic 5km “Marvel” green.
Is Morillon good for family ski holidays?
Absolutely! Morillon holds the coveted "Famille Plus" label and is well-known for its family-first accommodation and facilities, including plenty of ski-in/ski-out accommodation options.
The centre of the resort is car-free and close to lifts, and with excellent-rated ski schools, the kid-specific "Village des Enfants" area, and great snow totals, it makes a brilliant option for first-time families seeking ease and peace of mind.
Is Morillon good for snowboard holidays?
Yes, Morillon is excellent for snowboard holidays. Heaps of wide, flowing blues and reds offer plenty to carve, and the Ze KidzPark, Boarder Cross, and the JamPark in nearby Flaine are popular with freestylers.
Is Morillon ski resort easy to get to?
Morillon ski holidays offer some of the most easily accessible skiing in Europe. Geneva airport is under an hour’s drive away, making Morillon ski resort ideal for ski weekends and short breaks.
Can you ski directly from Morillon ski resort?
Yes. If you stay in Morillon 1100 (Les Esserts), you’ll find that almost all accommodation is ski-in/ski-out. However, if you stay in Morillon Village, you can instead take the high-speed gondola and be up on the slopes in about 4 minutes.
Is Morillon ski resort linked to any other resorts?
Yes, Morillon makes up part of France’s Grand Massif ski area and is fully linked by lifts and pistes to four other resorts: Flaine, Samoëns, Les Carroz, and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. You can ski between them all on a single Grand Massif pass.
Can you go night skiing in Morillon?
Yes. During the school holidays, night skiing is available on the nursery slopes over at Morillon 1100. However, one of the best things to do during the evenings here is to watch the torchlight descent led by the ESF instructors every Wednesday.
